Three hut circles near Hen Tor

Three stone hut circles and their surrounding settlement remain visible on the moorland west of Hen Tor, relics of the Bronze Age when Dartmoor supported a thriving population. The foundations and walls of these circular dwellings survive as low stone banks, arranged within a partially enclosed boundary that speaks of community and shared grazing land.

These hut circles are not isolated finds but part of a wider settlement pattern visible across Dartmoor, where families built stone homes, farmed stock, and maintained the open moorland we see today.
