How can I

Contribute?

The easiest way to contribute, which requires almost no effort on your part, is to share the website with friends and colleagues who enjoy Dartmoor.

Share the Facebook Page or mention the Instagram Page ... Chat with me on my Threads or "Our Dartmoor" BlueSky profiles ... the advertising budget for this project is exactly ZERO, if it's going to work, it will be because people have made it work, because they wanted it to work.

For visitors

One place to find the real Dartmoor, without the sales pitch.

Links & Things

I have an ever increasing list of people, websites, organisations and groups that I already intend to put on the "massive list of everything Dartmoor" ... however (hard as it may be to believe) I do not know all, or everybody!

Email or message me with your own suggestions - or send me details about what you do yourself.

Community

It's very much on the "to do" list (after my Events Page gets a little more attention)

I would love to get a community page up and running, I'm thinking along the lines of something similar to a Facebook Group (but without the ego's) 🤣

If anybody has any ideas, please let me know.

Frequently asked questions

What is Our Dartmoor?
Our Dartmoor is a free, independent guide to Dartmoor. It gathers the moor's businesses, places to visit, heritage sites, walking routes, maps and live data, and longer reads, all in one place. It is a community project built with the help of AI, and its job is to point you onward to the people and places it lists.
What else can I find on Our Dartmoor?
As well as the maps, there is a searchable directory of businesses and places, thousands of heritage sites, walking routes, events, a Journal and the Moot for longer reads and discussion, and historic maps you can fade back through time. Start from the full map or the All Dartmoor Maps page.
How can I contribute to Our Dartmoor?
We would love your help. You can suggest a place or business, send us a photograph, or share your thoughts on a listing. Local knowledge, memories and photographs are what make the moor's story richer, and every contribution is welcome.
