Stannon Tor is a modest, unassuming tor with a sheepfold on its south-western side and a scattering of granite at the summit. It sits on the edge of a spur, with views to the south and west, including the Central Basin and the Dart valley. Though not as prominent as some other tors, it makes a good starting point for walks towards Grey Wethers or Sittaford Tor. The area is littered with large boulders, giving a sense of scale.
