South Down

South Down sits on the edge of the north-western corner of Dartmoor, just north and west of Meldon Reservoir. A clearly marked public bridleway passes over its summit, making it a useful route across the hill. The views to the north are partly blocked by trees, but to the south, Yes Tor looms large beyond Homerton Hill. It's a straightforward, low-lying hill with no military ranges nearby.
