Ryder's Hill

Ryder's Hill is the highest point on southern Dartmoor, with two standing stones and a low cairn on its summit. One stone is known as Petre's Bound Stone, marking the boundary of three parishes. The cairn, known as Knattleborough, was a boundary marker for the Forest of Dartmoor since the 17th century. The hill can be reached by walking up Holne Ridge from Combestone Tor, past Horn's Cross, over a distance of about 3 km. Views from the summit extend over southern Dartmoor.
