Partially enclosed hut circle settlement near Lints Tor

This scheduled monument is the remains of a prehistoric settlement dating to the Bronze Age, when communities lived and worked on Dartmoor's high ground. The site consists of stone hut circles, the foundations of round dwellings, with evidence of partial enclosure by stone walls that may have corralled livestock or defined the settlement boundary.

Today the ruins are scattered across moorland north west of Lints Tor, a landscape little changed since these people herded animals and grew crops here thousands of years ago. The site offers a tangible connection to Dartmoor's deep past and the generations who shaped the moor into the open landscape we see today.
