Leather Tor is a striking granite ridge encircling Burrator Reservoir, with steep drops on either side and a distinctive dragon's-back shape from certain angles. The eastern and southern flanks are covered in dense clitter, making those sides difficult to walk, especially in summer. The summit ridge offers a challenging scramble, best done on calm days, with descent safest via the western side. It's a prominent landmark with excellent views across the reservoir and surrounding moorland.
