Henry's Ford crosses the East Okement River on Dartmoor's north-east section, situated below Knattaborough Tor and near Oke Tor. The river splits briefly at this point, which makes crossing on stones feasible during dry spells. When water levels rise, walkers either wade across or head downstream to Cullever Steps instead. The name likely honours either Henry Honey, who once held a mining licence at Taw Marsh nearby, or Captain Henry Banter, an agent at Knack Mine.
