Hartland Tor sits high above the East Dart River on the east side of the moor. It has a distinctive 'feather bed' summit and a rock cavity called 'The Devil's Punchbowl' on the east slope. A Bronze Age hut and a memorial rock to William Donaghy, a schoolmaster who died of exposure in 1914, are also nearby. The best way up is through minor tracks from the south, offering good views of the East Dart valley and Bellever.
