Great Gnats Head

Grid ref: SX 6160 6791

On walking routes: Abbot's Way

Great Gnats Head is a large cairn and hill with scattered granite down the slope. It sits just up the hill from Plym Ford and the source of the river Plym. On a clear day, it offers good views to Higher Hartor Tor and beyond to Plymouth Sound. It's a drier route from Plym Ford to Ducks Pool and has no military firing areas nearby.
