"I grew up in South Devon and now live and work in the historic market town of Newton Abbot, located within easy reach of Dartmoor and the coast.
Drawing has always been the medium I am most comfortable with, but I have also been painting in oils since 2005 and am largely self-taught. Running and walking has enabled me to get to know my local area well and it is no surprise that my work is inspired mainly by the beauty that South Devon has to offer.
I am equally happy working from sketches or photographs and enjoy drawing and occasionally painting en plein air.
I also enjoy producing less representational work based on strong colour and geometric shapes; this is derived from sketches or memory and adds variety to my practice."
I've met Ewan a couple of times, the first to show him around a part of Dartmoor he was unfamiliar with and the second for an en plein air art lesson on Lints Tor.

Kind words
I've met up with Ewan and walked on Dartmoor a couple of times now and he's not only great company but also a patient and considerate teacher - we walked to Lints Tor and did some En Plein Air oil painting (which was a first for me).
