Dartefacts

Devon

A truly incredible, innovative and unique resource.

This is one of my favourite websites on the internet.

I use it at least once a week to check details and to find places I've never been to before. To work out routes that take in more interesting historical and geographical aspects of the moor.

Using an interactive map, you can search an area to see what "Dartefacts" are within that square.

Check the gallery to see how this works. (Video following soon)

If you are not a subscriber, the zoom level is limited to 1:50k (which still gives you a fairly good view of the area) however, I highly recommend subscribing, which increases the level to 1:25k and helps to fund the continuing work of the Dartefacts team ... and it's only £12 for a whole year!

The Dartefacts team are Max Piper, Peter Kearney, Peter, Meg (the dog) and Karin Brooks and Rob Naylor.

If you've never used this website before, and you love Dartmoor, you are really missing out.
