Becky Falls

Manaton, Newton Abbot, Devon

Grid ref: SX 7623 7910

Part of Manaton →

Becky Falls Ancient Woodland Park has been welcoming visitors since 1903. Set in a spectacular ancient valley shaped by the last Ice Age, the park is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) - one of the UK's rare temperate rainforests.

The 70ft waterfall is the centrepiece, with the Becka Brook cascading between huge granite boulders. Three circular trails suit all ages and abilities: the gentle Blue Trail through ancient oak woodland; the Red Trail to the main waterfall; and the more challenging Purple Trail with views of the lower falls.

Keeper Talks, a small zoo with meerkats, giant tortoises, pygmy goats and exotic animals, a woodland café, gift shop and children's nature challenge make this a full family day out. Dogs welcome on leads.
