Enclosed hut circle settlement near Nun's Cross

This enclosed settlement consists of a cluster of stone hut circles dating to the Bronze Age, when Dartmoor's higher ground was more intensively farmed and inhabited. The huts would have served as homes for small family groups living from pastoral farming and stock rearing. The site sits exposed on open moorland, typical of the upland settlements that dot Dartmoor's landscape and reveal how people adapted to life on high ground in prehistory.
