Anna Eliza Bray's first and best-known Dartmoor work: a series of letters written to the poet Robert Southey describing the natural history, manners, customs, superstitions, scenery and antiquities of the country bordering the Tamar and the Tavy. First published in 1836, it became one of the earliest substantial written records of Dartmoor folklore and was later revised and republished under other titles. Published in London by John Murray in 1836.
